A Day in the Life of a Virtual Assistant

Looking for remote work shouldn’t have to feel like work. That’s why Top Applicant believes in streaming the hiring process on both sides of the employment equation! Our platform features in-depth personalization to give applicants an idea of what to expect. But to truly understand a position, there’s nothing like learning from a real person! Here’s a glimpse into the daily duties of the people doing virtual assistant jobs in Dallas!

8:00 AM: Rise and Shine (Virtually)

Hey! I’m Emily, and I’m a virtual assistant for the CEO at a financial security firm based in Dallas. First, I like to start every day with a plan. That means diving into my inbox and sorting through a sea of emails. I prioritize any urgent ones (like investor queries) and use the rest of this hour to schedule necessary last-minute meetings.

9:00 AM: Meeting Madness

Here’s where the real work begins! Meetings here are a constant balancing act. Between scheduling meetings with potential partners, team members, and investors, the daily docket can fill up quickly! As always, I ensure everything aligns with the CEO’s already hectic schedule.

10:00 AM: Research Roundup

This is something no one tells you about virtual assistant jobs. In this role, I get to dive into the latest trends to be a second brain for our CEO. From blockchain technology to AI, I’m responsible for keeping everyone informed and up-to-date!

11:00 AM: Presentation Prep

As needed, I break up my research time by adding my thoughts and creativity to our presentations. Whether it’s a new SOP or an upcoming investor pitch, I help my boss make a strong impression!

12:00 PM: Lunch Break (Sort of)

Don’t be fooled—you may get an hour for lunch, but I rarely take the full time! I usually grab a quick bite while reviewing notes from the CEO’s meeting with a potential client. In the top virtual assistant jobs in Dallas, multitasking becomes a superpower!

1:00 PM: Scheduling

I like to get back in the groove by booking flights, hotels, and car rentals for any upcoming business trips. I also use this time to organize his schedule for maximum efficiency.

2:00-3:00 PM: Circling Back

Later in the afternoon, I work the phones to reach out to new clients, answer any questions, and schedule follow-ups with any necessary staff members. Knowing the company, from the C-Suite to the mailroom, is important in this role!

4:00 PM: Wrap-Up (Hopefully)

I always close out my shift by reviewing everything that happened that day, ensuring everything is on track, and preparing for tomorrow’s challenges. 5:00 PM is typically the target for the end of my day, but like many virtual assistant jobs, the day can get later to meet the needs of my office!

While doing all of this from home may sound relaxing, don’t be fooled. Days can get hectic and clients can be crazy. But I’m always excited to meet new challenges and learn new things every day! If you can keep your head on straight, this is one of the most rewarding remote jobs out there.
